If you are looking for a well-bred Golden Retriever as your next active family member, hunting buddy or tireless competition dog and want to avoid the sleepless nights with a new-born puppy, Fava is your girl! She has been well socialized with other dogs of all ages, lots of public/store training sessions. She has been around large groups of people of all ages and loves the attention, including toddlers and young children. She is crate trained, knows her basic commands and absolutely loves learning new things every day!
Fava has a great start and is continuing work in obedience, manners, socializing, house training as well as started retrieves. She is birdy with an eagerness to please like non other! She is highly biddable and tractable! You can teach her a new trick in as little as one session! Her attention for obedience commands is outstanding and she absolutely looks for ways to make you smile.
She should mature around 45-50 pounds with a smaller, but sturdy structure like her dam. She has a beautiful, petite face, with clearly feminine features.
She has been started on fun retrieves with dead birds and bumpers and is already showing off how much she loves the game! She is showing good marking capabilities for her age and her excitement for the Hunt Test game is almost palpable at the line. She has run in several informal trials this winter and plan to run her in the next couple that are being held at the Central MN Retriever Club just outside of Sauk Centre, MN.
Both of Fava’s parents are health certified through the Orthopedic foundation for Animals, both have CHIC numbers as well as being current on their yearly eye exam. All results are passing with Good and Normal. With all of these being normal to good results in both parents, the likelihood of a disease, such as dysplasia, is less likely to occur in the offspring. Both parents hold tiles in hunt test through the AKC. Sire is Senior Hunt titled and Dam is Junior Hunt test titled.
We will continue with her training until she is placed, including proper gun introduction, FF, water work weather permitting…. etc. With this training, she should be ready to start running Junior Hunt test this summer and hunting this fall!
