Here at Root River Retrievers, we believe in the importance of training! We offer multiple classes designed to help owners learn to communicate and properly handle their dog. We also offer boarding/board&train.
I specialize in young dogs, helping owners shape good behavior along with a head start on basic obedience. I believe in starting them young. It is a crucial time to instill ‘life skills’ in your dog necessary to set them up for success in life.

Class every Tuesday, 6-7pm,start/end dates March7th-April11th 2023 *April18th-May23rd 2023*May30th-July5th 2023(last day of this class on a wednesday) will update more class times soon.

*Loose leash heel
*Building confidence
*Off-leash commands
*Working through distractions.
*Fun games like bump, spin,up, name game…ect
(must have completed Puppy 1 or equivalent.)

Basic Obedience 12 months and older

Board & Train 8 weeks-12 months old
Board & Train 8 weeks-12 months old
$800 monthly (one month minimum) This includes:
*Living in-home with trainer
*Daily physical and mental exercise
*socializing
*crate training/potty training
*Good manners and behavior shaping(learning not to jump, nip, counter surf…ect)
*Positive reinforcement training for sit, down, come, place, leave it
*Learning words “yes” and “no”
Space is limited for Board & Train, schedule ahead of time to ensure a spot, or ask about our openings.
Boarding *Any age*
Going on vacation and cant take your dog? We board in-home!
$25 a day, including over night.
*We have an emergancy vet on call at all times
*Clean and comfortable, over-sized large crates for naps
*Regular exercise/potty brakes/play time
*Mental stimulation(kong,brain toys…ect)
*Safe and quiet environment
Space is limited
Limited space to ensure proper care is given to each dog.
Please keep your dogs on a leash and under control at all times unless instructed otherwise. Please be respectful of other handlers/dogs space. This is for everyones safety.
All vaccines must be current for all dogs, whether attending a class or boarding.
For boarding dogs, I do require a recent “clean” fecal report. We do our part to stop the spread of harmful parasites and diseases/virus’s, we ask you to do the same.
If your dog is sick, we ask you to be considerate and refrain from coming to class. Any money paid in advance for one of our programs will either be refunded or put towards the next class/boarding in this situation.
I am NOT a bahaviorist. If you have a dog who is overly aggresive or dangerous, you need to seek a proffesional behaviorist for help.
